During British Science Week 2026, Kildwick Primary School welcomed Mrs Maceratesi, a biology teacher from South Craven School. With the theme ‘Curiosity…what’s your question’, Mrs Maceratesi inspired the children to explore their natural world, focusing on the fascinating life cycle of birds.
The session was interactive and engaging, as the children eagerly participated in a hands-on activity where they crafted their own bird’s nests using twigs, pipe cleaners, and plasticine. Creativity filled the room as each child expressed their unique ideas, fostering a sense of teamwork and curiosity.
Mrs Maceratesi encouraged the children to ask questions about the environment and consider how their interests in science could shape their future careers. This visit not only sparked excitement for biology but also their future learning at secondary school.
