Kingfishers have had a very busy half term so far. We have been going swimming each week, which I know all of the children are loving. I am so impressed with how they are getting better and better each week!
On Orienteering day we had so much fun using maps and coordinates and stamping our pages. We were lucky to have the sun out all day too!
We enjoyed learning how to skip in an amazing skipping workshop. We learnt how to do side to side (1, 2, 3, A, B, C!) skipping, double and single jump skipping, group skipping and run in skipping. Again, the children were amazing at this and they have been enjoying practising these new techniques at playtime.
We talked about journeys with Mr Thomas who came in to do a class collective worship. We thought about being mindful, the journey of life and how we can deal with the uncertainties of life.
We have planted some of the sunflower seeds that we prepared last half term in the rec. Children were fantastic at deweeding for this. We also took some tomato plant cuttings which are now in the potting shed so hopefully we will have some more plants to add soon if these are successful!
We still have our Pizza making trip to 22 The Square, sports day and the Key Stage 2 disco to look forward to too!
