September Re-Opening Plans

Dear Parents / Carers

I am pleased to be able to share with you our plans for the full reopening of school on Tuesday 8th September 2020. The government have stated that all pupils, in all year groups, will return to school full time from the beginning of the autumn term. When producing the document, we have been mindful of the need to reduce the number of contacts between children and staff whilst considering the practical logistics of the full function of the school. Please read the document carefully as it outlines key questions you may have about the return to school. The full guidance document can be found here on our school website.

I am pleased to confirm that our plans do involve the reopening of our before and after school care facility as well as being able to offer some after school activity clubs. We are aiming to provide each year group with a club that they can join. This will be confirmed when we return after the summer.

I am aware that a number of parents and children may be anxious about their children returning in September. Please be reassured that when they do, we will meet them where they are; socially, emotionally and academically and provide the necessary support to ensure an appropriate and sensitive return.

If your child has any Special or Additional Educational Needs and you have any concerns or questions about the return to school please contact Miss Akrigg ([email protected]). Miss Akrigg will be working the first two Thursdays of the holidays and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

We will be operating staggered starts and finishes (also found in the full opening PDF document):

Class One and Two to come into school via the church path. Class One 9:00am - 9:15am start. 3:15 - 3:30pm finish

Class Two 8:45am - 9am start. 3:00pm - 3:15pm finish.

Class Three to come in via the main gate 9:00am - 9:15am start. (Children’s locker access in Class 3 & 4 needs to be staggered).

Class Four to come in via the kitchen entrance 8:45am - 9:00am start (Children’s locker access in Class 3 & 4 needs to be staggered).

Class Five to come in via the fire escape 8:45am - 9am 3:15pm - 3:30pm finish

Please could parents be prompt and park in the church or pub car park, not on the road or by the back or side entrances.

Parents must arrive and collect in the allocated times and if you are unable to do so, please ring to make alternative arrangements.

As we swiftly arrive at the end of an unprecedented and surreal academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all an enjoyable summer and to thank you for all your support during these past few months. Your understanding and positivity has been greatly appreciated.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr T Whitehead
