Mother's Day

On Friday 25th March Robins and Swallows were very excited to be able to invite grown-ups back in school for our Mother's Day lunch. The children loved showing off their school to parents and carers. For some parents and carers this was the first time they had been able to come into school having been unable to visit previously due to the pandemic.

Parents enjoyed a delicious lunch of pizza, salad and coleslaw prepared by Donna, our amazing cook. We then spent time outside making assault courses, playing in the mud kitchen area, the water and even shooting some hoops!

As part of their Design Technology project children worked on making a Maasai Necklace with their grown-ups. There was also a chance to play games to help develop turn taking, subitising and addition skills. Children made a team with their adult and challenged their friends to a game. There was also a matching game which was great for the children’s working memory. As an added bonus it was a plant game to help reinforce our Science learning from this half term!

What a busy afternoon! Thank you to those who were able to join us and for all the support you give the children with their learning at home and in school. You really are appreciated!
