Twenty-three young singers from Kildwick Primary School joined nearly 100 children from across the district for a vibrant singing workshop at Christ Church, Skipton, on Friday 15th November.
The one-day event brought together choirs from several local schools, creating a powerful and uplifting sound as the children rehearsed a wide range of songs. Their repertoire included lively tunes about animals, as well as pieces celebrating kindness, resilience, togetherness — and even a song inspired by a dragon.
The workshop concluded with a performance for an appreciative audience of families, friends and local residents. The concert was very well received, with many praising not only the quality of the children’s singing but also their exemplary behaviour throughout the day.
A highlight for Kildwick staff came during the lunch break, when the children gathered around conductor Steven Roberts for an impromptu rehearsal, a moment described as “a very proud one” for everyone involved.
Kildwick Primary School said they were grateful to the Skipton Festival organiser Mrs Jill Wright for hosting such an inspiring event, adding that they hope to return for future workshops and to the Skipton Music Festival in March 2026.
