On Monday 12th July, Owls Class gave a performance of A Midsummer's Night Dream to their parents and teachers.  The play took place outside on the Peggy Wilson field in front of the forest school area.  For three weeks leading up to it, the children had worked with Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation to develop their physical and verbal acting skills.  Jess and Rowena, from Coram SSF played lots of games to relax the children and get them in the mood to express themselves.  The children then worked in small groups to develop a scene from the play over a few sessions.  All the scenes came together to tell the story (one rainy afternoon in July) of four Athenians who run away to the forest only to have Puck the fairy make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry.  Well done Owls, everyone was very impressed!
