We travelled to Eden Camp, near Malton in North Yorkshire to visit a World War Two museum. The place itself was a prisoner of war camp during the war where Italian and German prisoners lived. Now all the huts tell the story of the Second World War. There were some scary (and smelly) huts to go through, e.g. the Blitz and U Boat huts! Some of the huts told us about life on the Home Front, which was useful, because we had learnt about rationing and evacuation in school. An interesting link to Kildwick came in the Great Escape hut because we think the last man due to go down the tunnel had a family link to Farnhill. It was a great day out and the playground was awesome. Year 6 highly recommends! Thanks parents for supporting.
By Year 6.
