Year Six had a fantastic start to their new school year with a trip to London.
After an early start and a long train ride, the class jumped on the tube and arrived in Westminster. They walked to the Houses of Parliament, where they took part in a guided tour around the building. They were able to go into the House of Lords and the House of Commons because the MPs and Lords were on recess. The morning ended with a question and answer session with Julian Smith, the MP for Skipton and Ripon. The group had worked up an enormous appetite and were keen to enjoy their picnic next to the London Eye. Once refreshed, they jumped on the London Eye and enjoyed half an hour of sightseeing across the cityscape.
It was then time for the long sightseeing walk back to King's Cross station ready to catch our train home. But not before a bit of souvenir shopping to help remember the tiring but amazing day!
