year 6

Year Six went to Bradford Industrial Museum to experience life in a Victorian classroom. They also enjoyed looking around the exhibits which including machinery from the Industrial Revolution. They saw a printing press in operation and explored themed houses from a range of periods in history.

The class dressed up in Victorian outfits to make the experience authentic. Children took part in activities that reflected what a typical day in the classroom looked like: prayers, hymns, and reciting times tables. The Victorian-style teacher also made the class complete calculations written on slates, use ink dip pens to write letters and participate in a drawing task.
