John is the Local Authority Governor and the chair of governors since September 2021. He is a teacher by background and before retiring, in June 2019, was the Special Educational Needs Manager for Calderdale Council.  He continues to take an active interest in education policy and believes that schools play an important role in local communities.  He has lived in Carleton for over 30 years

Karen has lived in Kildwick for nearly twenty years along with her husband and takes an active interest in the local area. She has three school aged children, all of whom attended Kildwick primary school. Karen qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and works part time at a local Solicitors firm dealing with Private client law.

I have lived in Kildwick for 18 years and both of my children attended Kildwick primary school. I taught in primary education in Leeds and Bradford authorities for 22 years. 

I love walking my two dogs and spending time with family and friends.  I enjoy home renovations and gardening.

Tim has been the headteacher of Kildwick CE School since September 2016. He is committed to providing the best opportunities for all staff and pupils and believes that every child should have the opportunity to be the best that they can be. Tim spent his formative teaching years in the the North East before relocating to the 'green valley' twenty years ago. In his spare time, Tim enjoys running with his two springer spaniels.

Jo was a teacher for more than 20 years before retiring from the profession in 2024. In addition to clerking for the Local Authority, Jo continues to work as a SIAMs inspector. She spends much of her spare time in Scotland visiting family and enjoys her daily walks in the Dales with her three dogs.

Kate is a hospital pharmacist, working in Bradford, having qualified in 2003.

Kate attends Skipton Baptist Church and helps with Sunday school.

I am a parent of three children currently attending Kildwick Primary School and am passionate about supporting their educational journey and also the school as a whole. My previous career before children was in front line policing which has given me a very diverse skill set which I am confident I could apply to the role of a parent governor. I also have a BA (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science and Level 3 qualifications in; Neuroscience in Early Years, ADHD in children, mental health in children and understanding autism in children.

I live in Cross Hills with my husband and children, I am a keen Baker and love getting out into the wonderful countryside around us.

An archaeologist by profession, Louise has experience in a variety of management roles – including projects and financial. Teaching and training in archaeology have been a mainstay of her career, from primary to university students, and through to retirees.

Louise has lived in Kildwick for over 10 years and has a child in KS2.

Rachel is a newly appointed Staff Governor and teaches across both EYFS/KS1 and KS2, giving her a broad understanding of the school and the needs of pupils throughout the primary phase. With 16 years of teaching experience across the full primary age range, Rachel brings a wealth of expertise to the governing board. She has previously held senior leadership responsibilities at another local primary school, providing valuable strategic insight and leadership experience. Rachel has extensive knowledge of curriculum development and implementation and holds a Master's degree (MA) in Education. Her combination of classroom experience, leadership expertise and commitment to high quality education enables her to make a valuable contribution to the school's governance and continued improvement.
