Crucial Crew

Year Six took part in a Crucial Crew workshop which equips children with the skills to stay safe. This is particularly important in Year Six when children will be becoming more independent as they move on to their secondary schools.

The children were split into different groups and mixed with pupils from other local primary schools. They worked their way around the following workshops:

  • fire safety
  • water safety
  • sexting/social media awareness
  • walking in the Yorkshire Dales
  • drug awareness
  • smoking/vaping awareness
  • road safety
  • anti-social behaviour
  • having a criminal record
  • CPR

Each workshop was delivered by a range of local professionals including police officers. Year Six have built on their existing knowledge and skills to prepare them for the next stage in their life.
